Dixie Elixirs manufactures and sells cannabis products including elixirs, edibles, and topicals to cannabis dispensaries. Their website is bright, friendly, and engaging: it’s clearly appealing to a more sophisticated, upscale customer than one might generally think of when they think of cannabis dispensaries. Overall, it’s a really engaging website.
What we like about this
This website does a lot right. The colors are bright and bold. The hero/header fonts are big, engaging, and easy to read. The hero/header photos are clearly professionally done and capture the essence of their different products.
Additionally, the site navigation is code: it’s easy to find product information or a store where you can buy Dixie Products. Their blog & education section is helpful and awesome for SEO (which is one of the few ways that cannabis companies can get found online, as of April 2020…advertising isn’t allowed on most major networks).
Finally, as a manufacturer, it’s good that they refer traffic to ‘find a store’ rather than ‘buy online,’ so they aren’t competing with their channel partners. Of course, that could also be because most payment processors won’t permit the selling of THC-based products online, but, we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.
Suggestions we might make
If we were to make one suggestion, it would be to clean up typography. There are multiple fonts on different pages and, while each section looks fine, cleaning it up would give the website a look that’s that much crisper.
Particularly on the product pages, the product titles could be bigger.
Additionally, the ‘blog’ section on the homepage could be cleaned up so that each excerpt is shorter and the same length.
Overall, though, a really nice website.
